TRUE LOVE WAITS-This was our February theme when we weren't out due to a blizzard. :) Students did get to visit the SP Crisis Pregnancy Clinic on Wednesday, February 24th. They learned about the sad realities of abortion, the sanctity of life, and God's view on purity. We'll continue this month with the Pam Stenzel film “Sex Still Has A Price Tag”. The True Love Waits Rally has been postponed until April 24th at Lake Shore Baptist Church.
VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVE-March 1-31 students are asking you, their neighbors, and the community to go online to make a donation to the Maryland Food Bank. This is part of our Ecumenical Youth Food Drive scheduled for Saturday, March 20th. We have our own personalized web address for your donations. You'll find it in your Sunday bulletin.
SPAN FOOD DRIVE-Sundays, March 14 and 21. As part of our Youth Food Drive, students are asking church members and friends to bring in nonperishable food items to be delivered later to SPAN, the Severna Park Assistance Network. Please place these items at the far end of the welcome center as you arrive to worship on Sunday morning.
30 HOUR FAMINE FOR WORLD VISION: HAITI/FOOD DRIVE-Saturday, March 20-Sunday morning, March 21. This is an ecumenical event that we are doing in conjunction with Martins in the Field, Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, St. Johns Catholic Church, and SP United Methodist Church. Students will begin fasting at midnight Saturday, March 20th. We'll join SPBC in the prayer walk in the morning hours, from 9-noon. From noon until 6:15 pm. we'll participate in educational activities rotations with the other churches. We'll learn about Haiti's plight through testimonies from missionaries like our own Amanda Luning and Abby Evans. Pastor Dave has been asked to give a message to the students at our Saturday evening closing at St. Martins. A LOCK IN for our kids starts at 8 pm. at SPBC. At 7:45 am Sunday we'll join with all the churches at St. Martins to break our fast with communion and a pancake breakfast prepared by men from each church. Students return to SPBC for Sunday School at 9:30, worship, and will share with you about their experience. All donations to the 30 Hour Famine will go to Haiti. Please sponsor our teens and adults in this effort.
RENT A TEEN-Starting this month you may rent one or more of our teens to help you out at home. They will babysit, do housework, rake leaves, cut grass, clean out your garage, attic, or basement, paint, and more. Your payment for their services will go directly into their camp account. To rent a teen, call Terry at 410-544-6747.
LEADERSHIP ROCKS-Teens who want to go deeper in their Christian walk have been meeting at Terry's home since January. We're now expanding to include students in grades 8-12. A soup kitchen outreach is planned for early spring.
SERVANT OPPORTUNITIES-We need 2-3 people to help us monitor the outdoor areas and the hallways on Wednesday nights from 6-7 pm. You won't need to counsel or teach any teens. We just want your welcoming presence there so we can spend more time WITH the students rather than monitoring the perimeters while they have their 1 hour of games and hang out time. This allows us the ability to build relationships with the teens. Dinner is provided to you, as well. Please contact Terry, if God is leading you to serve in this way.

SPECIAL NOTE:
On Wednesday nights, if Anne Arundel Schools are closed or close early due to inclement weather,
we will also be closed unless otherwise notified.

Yours in Christ, Terry Swartout
